Organisation ideas for a tidier home
As the season of renewal and rejuvenation, Spring is an opportune time to clean your home and ensure that it's in tip-top order for the months ahead. we share our favourite tips and tricks for organising your home, so that you can have a system in place to maintain a relaxing, stress-free space devoid of clutter.
House your footwear
For many Hong Kong homes, it is customary to take shoes off before stepping inside, but these can quickly build up to create a hazard zone and mess in your entryway. Shoe cabinets are an excellent solution to keeping footwear off the ground and out of sight, and with so many sizes and styles available in the market, you’ll be sure to find one that suits your space. With all your shoes neatly tucked away, you’ll have a clean, clutter-free and inviting entryway to welcome you home.

Bring on the baskets
Baskets are one of our favourite storage solutions to incorporate into any room due to their incredible versatility. Beautifully woven with natural fibres such as rattan and seagrass, these woven wonders provide storage space whilst adding warmth and textural interest to your home. Some designs come in vibrant patterns and colours, truly putting the ‘fun’ in functionality! Baskets can be used in virtually any part of the home – from your living room to store throw pillows and blankets, to your kid’s room to keep the little one’s toys neatly in one place. They are also a wonderful addition to corral your bits and bobs within your shelves should you prefer a more streamlined look.

Give your laundry a home
Have a pile of dirty clothes building up in the corner of your home? A laundry basket can help keep them out of sight and cull the clutter in an instant. We especially love our kubo laundry basket, which is handcrafted by skilled artisans using the traditional Lloyd Loom technique. Each piece is made with FSC™-certified kraft paper, twisted around a metal wire and woven into durable, flexible sheets before they are assembled into beautiful furniture. With an easy-to-remove, washable linen liner, this rectangular laundry basket tucks neatly into corners and stays out of the way. Kubo comes in an array of colours – pick the shade that reflects your personal style!

Add a catchall tray
One main reason why clutter starts to build up – particularly on table surfaces – is because they become a catchall for miscellaneous items. Trays are one of the simplest yet effective ways to minimise visual clutter, by grouping your bits and bobs together on one stylish base. Our uniquely crafted voyage trays (designed by Dawn Switzer) come in an array of eclectic, striking patterns, and provide a stunning foundation to place your everyday essentials. Use them in the entryway to house your keys and mail, in the bedroom for perfumes and jewellery, or on the coffee table for candles, remotes and other finishing touches.

Consider double duty pieces
If you live in an apartment where space is at a premium, and are unable to fit in another storage solution, then consider opting for a double-duty piece that works hard for you. A bed with storage is a wonderful option as it utilises space underneath that would otherwise be wasted, and provides plenty of storage to keep garments, linens and other essentials. Our eden bed in particular (which comes in an extensive range of colours and fabrics) has a swift hydraulic lift mechanism, which allows you to raise your mattress to a parallel position and easily access the storage compartment underneath.
