what size coffee table works for my space?

proportion matters more than most people realise. as a starting point, aim for a coffee table that's roughly 50–75% of your sofa length: a sofa around 160–200cm works well with a table around 110cm, while a compact 2-seater suits something closer to 80cm. leave 40–50cm between the table and your sofa so there's room to move comfortably without stretching to reach your drink.

height is worth getting right too. a coffee table that sits 2–5cm below your sofa seat height feels natural and relaxed to use. most of our coffee tables sit between 35 and 55cm high, so it's easy to find a match.

which shape works best?

rectangular tables align naturally with sofa lines and make efficient use of the floor space in most Hong Kong living rooms. if your room is on the smaller side or you have young children at home, a round or organically shaped table softens the feel of the space and removes the concern about sharp corners; several of our designs feature rounded edges specifically for this reason. for spaces that need to flex, a nest of tables lets you pull extra surface out when guests arrive and tuck it away again afterwards.

the heartland of our collection is solid hardwood: reclaimed teak, FSC™-certified teak, European oak, and dark-brown stained mahogany. reclaimed teak is lovingly crafted from timber salvaged from old Indonesian houses, carrying weathered surfaces and original markings that make every piece genuinely one of a kind. FSC™-certified teak shares the same natural durability; European oak brings light, creamy tones with a fine, even grain; mahogany offers a deep warmth that deepens beautifully with age.

are solid wood coffee tables suited to Hong Kong's humidity?

keeping the wood hydrated is the simple key. if you use air conditioning regularly, a small bowl of water nearby helps maintain the humidity balance your table will appreciate. wipe spills as they happen, and the wood will settle into your home and stay there.

day to day, a soft, slightly damp cloth along the grain is all your coffee table needs. for a deeper clean, use a cloth with a little natural soap and warm water: wipe along the grain, then leave to dry naturally. coasters and placemats are the easiest way to protect the surface from water rings and heat marks over time; small habits that keep the wood looking its best for years.

will my coffee table fit through the lift?

standard Hong Kong lift doors are approximately 80cm wide. most of our coffee tables can be packaged to pass through, but we recommend checking dimensions before delivery, particularly for larger models. our team is happy to advise on access and can carry pieces up stairs in walk-up buildings for an additional charge.

is reclaimed teak durable enough for everyday use?

absolutely. reclaimed teak from old Indonesian houses has already proven its strength over decades of use. when thoughtfully restored and expertly crafted, it is one of the most robust materials we work with; and it carries a history that new timber simply cannot replicate.

how do I choose between teak, oak, and mahogany?

teak is our most moisture-resilient hardwood and is loved for its beautifully straight grains and warm hues. oak brings a lighter, airier feel to a room with its creamy tones and fine grain, while mahogany is the warmest and richest of the three. the best way to decide is to see them side by side, which is exactly what our Horizon Plaza showroom is for.

what if my coffee table gets scratched?
