Continuing our tour of our TREE-designed Dragon’s Range flat in Sha Tin (if you missed it, check out Part 1, exploring the living and dining room design), today we’ll take a walk through the bedroom, with tips on how to recreate this natural look in your own home!

We had a wonderful time creating this elegant and airy master
bedroom with views of the beautifully green hills outside – so rare in Hong
Kong! We wanted the setting to balance, rather than compete with, this
naturally stunning backdrop and so opted for a serene colour scheme to create
the perfect restful space.
As you walk in, your eye is immediately drawn to the beautiful accent wallpaper, which adds depth to the room as well as a lovely sense of nostalgia.
Once again, as with the living and dining area, we chose tonal shades of colour, working from soft purples and mauves in the one-of-a-kind vintage carpet to a grey stone shade through the bedding, cushions and wallpaper. Not only does this help to create a harmonious look, it also makes the beautiful solid oak bed frame really pop – its clean, classic lines contrasted by the soft textures and gorgeous scalloped edging on the embroidered bedding (we love the detail!).
Our favourite place in the room is the cosy little nook in the corner – the perfect place to relax on a lazy Sunday morning, enjoying a cup of coffee and a good book. A simple winged armchair, side table, and statement lamp are all you need to recreate a similar effect in your own home.
TOP TIP: Trawl the flea markets and vintage shops for antique suitcases, trunks and boxes – a rare find worth searching for, they make for a brilliantly unexpected night stand and are a creative way of adding practical storage as well as putting a unique stamp on your space.

No bedroom-related post would be complete without talking about the wardrobe – after all, everyone in the household needs a place to store their favourite garments! We chose side-by-side ‘his and hers’ wardrobes to provide plenty of room for the owners to hang, stack, and store without needing to fight for space! We love the way the wood grain flows seamlessly from one to the other, adding to the tranquil setting in which to unwind to after a long day.
TOP TIP: For extra storage, make use of the space above your wardrobe with large baskets or boxes – perfect for keeping your winter coats and blankets during the warmer months.
We love the relaxing feel of this bright, airy design and certainly would love waking up in this bedroom every day!
Stay tuned for Part 3 of the Dragon’s Range home tour, getting down to business in our beautifully eco-chic home office!
